Several years ago I started reading a book called the 7 Habits of Highly Successful People. And while I did not finish the book, the parts I have read inspired me to write this article.

Habits are extremely powerful. Once you develop a habit the chances of you giving it up are very slim. This is because habits become a part of you.

Your habits are what have determined the outcome of your life up to this point. If you are currently overweight and struggling to eat healthy, its in large part due to your habits.

That’s why its so important your habits line up with the goals you are trying to accomplish.

With this article we are going to discuss 3 habits of highly successful fitness enthusiasts. When we say fitness enthusiasts we are referring to people who have managed to lose a ton of weight and keep it off.

These are the people who have transformed their lives by changing their habits.

With that being said, here are the 3 habits highly successful fitness enthusiasts have in common.

They Have a Clear Goal In Mind

One of the tips shared in the book is to start with the end in mind. In other words, you need to know where you are going before you can attempt to get there.

People who successfully transform their bodies start by setting clear cut goals. They know exactly what they want to accomplish and they set a deadline in which they must do it by.

Having clear goals makes it that much easier for them to stay motivated all the way through the process.

When setting your goals make it a point to focus on one thing at a time. Trying to accomplish 10 goals at the same time is a sure way to set yourself up for failure.

By focusing on one goal at a time you set yourself up for success and increase your chances of reaching your ultimate goal.

Having one clear goal also makes it easier for you to create a game plan. Once you have your game plan you can start making the necessary changes to help you reach your goal.

They Start By Making Small Changes

One of the biggest reasons so many people fail when it comes to transforming their bodies is because they try to cut everything out all at the same time.

They clean out their pantry and swear off all unhealthy foods for the foreseeable future. And while this approach can work for some, for most people it does not.

For best results you need to start by making small changes that can easily be sustained over time. Once one small change has been successfully implemented you can make another small change.

Focusing on small changes that can have a big impact is the best way to reach your health and fitness goals.

Start by tracking your calories so you can see where you need to make changes. You can then start meal prepping 2-3 meals a week.

Once you start seeing results from these small changes you will be motivated to stick with them for the rest of your life.

They Enjoy Their Workouts

Unfortunately over the years the fitness industry has made working out more of a chore than something you can enjoy.

They have literally beat us over the head with the idea that you have to workout so hard that you end up puking all over yourself before the workout is over.

While it is good to push yourself in the gym, pushing yourself so hard that you can barely move the next day is not a recipe for success.

Doing workouts that you actually enjoy however will put you on the fast track to success.

The people who enjoy going to the gym the most are doing workouts that they love. They have fun when they go workout.

Because of this they are less likely to miss workouts.

The good news is you don’t have to stick with one type of workout forever. If at anytime you become bored with your current workout, or you are no longer getting the results you want from it,  you can simply switch it up.

As you go throughout your fitness journey your goals will change. As your goals change so will your workouts.

Its all about making adjustments and never getting too comfortable with where you are. That’s how you get consistent results.

If you are ready to transform your body and change your life, start by changing your habits. Set a clear goal and come up with a plan to reach that goal.

Also remember that nothing happens overnight. You have to be patient with yourself during this process.

Transforming your life is a long term investment and not an overnight quick fix. Don’t give up when things get a little rough.
